2016 Hungarian Grand Prix review

So what did you guys think of this race? I'm always waiting forward for the Hungarian GP but this time I was very disappointed. It was surprisingly boring but at least I have a few points to talk about. Here goes...

At the beginning it was a surprise to see all the top cars in the front take identical starts. I'm talking about Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel.

Only the Mercs of Rosberg and Hamilton swapped positions because Rosberg was a bit too confused who to block - Hamilton or Ricciardo? Hamilton was only focused on taking the lead and so he did.

Kimi Räikkönen was the sixth driver who should have been with the top5 right at the beginning but started from 14th place on the grid. After a while he found himself with the other top teams and that was no surprise. He managed to overtake a lot of cars and several times without DRS which is very nice. These days the drivers always wait for the DRS to be enabled on their cars and don't even try that much to overtake before that.

Jenson Button had a very weird situation in the race. His brake pedal didn't work so he asked his team for advice. They told him how to fix the issue and then Button got a penalty. Why?!? The rules clearly says that when it comes to safety they are allowed to give instructions. Button himself also said on the radio that if brake issues is not a safety risk then what is... I was wondering the same thing. Just stupid if you ask me!

The top5 was pretty much the same from the start till the end but Vettel and Verstappen swapped positions.

On the last laps we saw a rerun from Barcelona when Räikkönen was fighting with Verstappen for 5th place, only in Barcelona they were fighting for the victory.

The Iceman was clearly faster than Verstappen but couldn't get pass him. Verstappen changed racing lines several times so that Räikkönen had no chance of overtaking.

When the race was over Verstappen denied everything and said that if Kimi was saying something like that then he is just looking for excuses like he always does..... Wait a minute! Kimi looking for excuses like he ALWAYS does? Do I even need to comment on that? Well Verstappen is still young and might change his opinion later on. Vettel for example likes Kimi because he always admits everything he does and tells the truth without any BS... but maybe the young Verstappen hasn't seen Kimi that much in interviews or hasn't hung out with him as much as Vettel. Who knows?

Let's move on to the predictions and the results.
