2014 United States Grand Prix review

I like the track in Austin but why isn't the races as exciting as the track is? Pretty ok race but it has been "pretty ok" every year. I hope the next years GP will be more dramatic.

There was some drama anyways. A few stupid crashes with retirements and also technical problems with Sebastian Vettel's and Kimi Räikkönen's cars.

I must say that Sebastian Vettel drove like a true hero even though he didn't get much of it. He overtook car after car and dropped back again. Then he overtook car after car again. Didn't get much of it but if he had started from a normal position he could have been on the podium. Red Bull worked very good at Austin.

Kimi Räikkönen didn't do as good as Vettel did. He just dropped backwards through the whole race. It's a pity and I am stunned that a driver who drove so well at Lotus would have results like this at Ferrari. I can't understand what's going on. Is the car really that bad? It seems that he has problems in every practice session, qualifying and race. But why doesn't Fernando Alonso have any problems? I remember one technical failure this year with Alonso's car and that's it.

Alonso tested Kimi's car earlier in May and even he said that there is something strange about the car. FIX THE DAMN CAR ALREADY! KIMI HAS WAITED LONG ENOUGH. I don't care if Alonso beats him in every race but if the car has problems it's frustrating to watch. Has anybody had this much problems this year at any team? I don't think so.

The last things about the race that I wanna mention is that Daniel Ricciardo was again best of the rest and not even the Williams' could match his speed. The other thing is that Nico Rosberg got a good chance to beat Lewis Hamilton but didn't go for it. I guess he thought that Lewis was just going to drive behind him and be a good boy? No way Jose.. He is hungrier than Nico and that is why he will probably be champion this year.

What if Lewis retires in Abu Dhabi and Nico wins and gets 50 points? That would just show how stupid this new rule is that the driver gets double points in the last race. It wouldn't be right. Hamilton deserves to be champion this year! If Rosberg doesn't agree with me then he should win him in the old fashion way. Not with this stupid one million points in the last race crap. That's about it..

Now let's see my predictions and how it went:

Pole position: Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes - WRONG. It was the other Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg.

Race:
  1. Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes - CORRECT (He has now the most wins of all the british drivers).
  2. Nico Rosberg, Mercedes - CORRECT
  3. Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull - WRONG. It was the other Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo.

Fastest lap: Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes - WRONG. It was Felipe Massa with his Mercedes powered Williams.

Surprise: Keep an eye on Nico Hulkenberg. He has been pretty good in Austin with Sauber and Force India - He retired so it's very hard to say how it would have been after the checkered flag.

I am still number one in the PREDICTORS LEAGUE but there is three others very close to my points.

Post your own predictions to our F1-4-LIFE PREDICTORS LEAGUE!

The rules:

POINTS:  1st - 3  2nd - 5  3rd - 10

HOW IT WORKS: the aim of the game is simply predict who comes where in the race (top3). A total of 18 points can be won on a race day. If you get winner and and 3rd place right but 2nd wrong you get 13 points same if you get 1 correct. eg. 2nd you get 5 points. If a driver wins the race and you said he would come 2nd or 3rd no points would be awarded. Same if he came in another position, and you predicted that wrong. A table will be posted up every race weekend. The point scoring system will change once the cars become more competitive. Everyone will say a merc 1,2 so it won't be close or fun.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PREDICTIONS: send an email to f14lifeblog@gmail.com or message the Facebook page to submit your predictions. You have until lights out to make them. If you submit them when the race has started they won't count. So be quick! like the Mercedes.

THE PRIZE: the winner of the league will win themselves a admin place on the F1 4 LIFE page along side AE, JT, MW & MH. If you don't want to be an admin you are welcome to participate anyway. We may also come up with some other prize if it helps.

That's it for today and if you want to send me feedback then email me: f14lifeblog@gmail.com
